The controversy
surrounding the educational qualifications and certificates of the All
Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu
Buhari, seem not to have died down.
Buhari’s educational qualification has come under scrutiny at various times by critics of the Daura-born retired General who have continually cited his lack of educational qualifications as one of the reasons why he is not capable of leading Nigeria effectively.
An email purportedly from the US Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, United States of America has surfaced online disputing the claims on Buhari’s certificate that he gained a Masters Degree in Strategic Studies from the college in 1980.
The email to seek clarifications on Buhari’s status in the college was written by one Sunday Iwalaiye who sent an email to Carroll Kerr last week Thursday (January 8, 2015) who works in the public affairs office of the college.
Kerr responded to the email same day confirming Buhari as a student of the college in 1980 but pointed out that he earned a Diploma and not a Masters Degree, saying the college first awarded Masters Degree in the year 2000.

Just last week, the head of Media and Publicity of the Buhari Support Organization, Dr. Chidia Maduekwe, defended the academic records of General Muhammdu Buhari.
