A civil society “Citizens Initiative for Security
Awareness” (CISA) expressed their outrage against terrorists using
innocent women and children in their activities.
I-Nigerian Initative organized an interactive media forum in Abuja, PR Nigeria reports. Taking part in the forum National Coordinator of CISA, Comrade Chidi Omeje, showed his big concern about acts of using vulnerable women and children by the Boko Haram terrorist group to commit crimes and terror attacks.
CISA is worried about growing number of young female suicide bombers who detonate improvised explosive devices and kill thousands of innocent people. CISA called the new trend “barbaric”.
“We consider this new trend by the terror group as unconscionable, callous, barbaric act that represents the worst kind of crime against humanity.”
Latest investigations have revealed that the recent bomb explosions in different parts of the north were launched by young girls and women, who were strapped with explosives.
“We have no doubt in our minds that these hapless women and children who are made to embark on such deadly missions do so out of compulsion ,through brain washing, drug inducement, ignorance or intimidation by those who conscripted them for that purpose. The perpetrators of this heinous crime now find it easy to
use the vulnerable women and children to commit such terrible crime by exploiting their vulnerability and gullibility.”
Omeje warned parents and guardians that times are really difficult nowadays. That is why they must control their children by knowing the company they keep and the places they visit. In his opinion, parents must ensure that their children do not receive parcels or objects from unknown people because it can be dangerous.
CISA coordinator truly believes that the only way to fight terrorism is to report about suspicious persons or objects to the nearest security agency. Also people must remain steadfast and supportive of the government and security forces.
The Coordinator of I-Nigerian Initiative, Ada Stalla Apiafi, also advised all Nigerians to be extra conscious and careful especially during this period.
“We are in a seasonal and critical period of Xmas and new year festivities at a period of crucial electioneering campaigns. Every Nigerian must be vigilant and support the relevant authorities against activities of criminal elements towards a prosperous and peaceful new year.”
Tanimu Turaki, Minister of Special Duties and Supervising Minister of Labour, recently noted that current administration is doing everything possible to end insurgency in Nigeria . But he also advised Nigerians to adapt to living under the conditions of Boko Haram insurgency.
The government and President Goodluck Jonathan several times promised to end Boko Haram terror acts by changing the approach. But unfortunately bloody attacts by the insurgents continue in the North-East.
